I don’t know about the rest of the you guys, but when I turned 16, I would have killed for my parents to buy me my own brand new car. I wouldn’t go on and on and on bitching about how it’s not the right color because it is red. Who cares if you wanted a blue one? That’s not the point!

You should just be happy that your parents are well enough off, and have enough money to buy you a  BRAND SPANKING NEW CAR!!!!!! Be happy with that, it’s not like it happens to everyone. If she would have been my daughter , and I got a reaction and temper tantrum like the one she gave, she wouldn’t have a car. That car would have went straight back to the dealership!

 I wouldn’t have tried to ‘ reason’ with her and calm her down, because it’s not the exactcar the little princess wanted. Kids like that just piss me off. Sure I would have like my parents to be loaded like hers, but then I know I wouldn’t be the person I am today. Yes it sucked some major ass to have to work for everything I have ever owned or wanted, but it made me realize that there are more important things in life than the stuff you have.

 I mean, hell I’m just upset! The comic’s creativity and mass appeal wasn’t about a little boy who is ‘crazy’, it was about a little boy and his very active imagination. We all had active imaginations when we were kids, that doesn’t make us crazy, well most of us anyway! I mean who didn’t daydream to get away from boring school teachers and lessons? That’s what made “Calvin&Hobbes” such a wonderfully funny and genius comic strip. Thank you Bill Watterson for capturing the essence of a little boy’s over active imagination and giving the world one of, if not, the best comic strips of all time. To see Adult Swim make fun of it, it just pisses me off that they could take something so pure, and entertaining, and turn it into something so stupid, and non comedic.  They have ruined a childhood comic of mine, and I’m sure many others out there.

 I mean seriously if you can’t control what your kids are doing on a gaming system YOU bought them, you shouldn’t have any kids at all. I’ve noticed that parents what everything handed to them on a silver platter when it comes to raising their kids. They don’t want to take responsibility for anything.

This article is  example of that. I mean c’mon Nintendo shouldn’t have to put a ” Cyber Nanny” type of filter in the Wii just because you’re too lazy to set up the parental controls that already come with the Wii? What’s more important raising your kids or yapping on the phone, or doing whatever you want, and not watching or raising your kids at all? Having kids is a RESPONSIBILITY!!! Just because you can pop out a carbon copy of you and the man or woman you slept with doesn’t mean that you SHOULD.

Having kids means being grown up and mature enough to actually spend time with your kids and talk with them, help them with homework, and what not. It doesn’t mean you park them in front of a Wii, hell any gaming system for that matter, or the TV or DVD player , and let that raise them. The rise of all the ADD and ADHD kids in this country is bogus. 95% of those kids don’t have those problems, their parents’ just don’t want to deal with them so they get them diagnosed with those problems and get them on pills to ‘calm’ them out. They don’t need those pills!

You just need to do the responsible thing and spend time with and discipline your kid(s) when they do something wrong. Teach them the difference between right and wrong. But that won’t happen in today’s ” I have a kid, and everyone must help me raise MY kid, because I don’t want to take any sort of responsibility for my actions. ” generation. 

It’s a sad state our nation is in at this point in time. “Old Fashioned Values” were VALUES for a reason. Yes some of them may need to be updated, as all things do as time changes, but they worked just fine for my parents raising me, and my grandparents raising my parents, and so on and so forth. You have a kid, a leaving breathing intelligent life-form, not a dog or cat or pet fish. Take responsibility for you actions and raise your kids right!

In the Million Man March, you believed that you were marching for your race and rights. If we marched for our race and rights…you would call us racists.

Did you know that some high school students decided to make a club for only the white students because the other ethnicities had them… they all got sent to court for being rasist but the african-american, latino, and asia clubs were not even questioned.

You are proud to be black, brown, yellow and orange, and you’re not afraid to announce it. But when we announce our white pride, you call us racists.
I am white.
I am proud.
But, you call me a racist.
Why is it that only whites can be racists?

I found this while surfing the web one day recently. Sadly in my infinite wisdom I forgot to write down the blog’s web address or the author’s name. For that I’m sorry, because this post really makes you think.

I have two more quarters of school left until I get my degree in Computer Information Systems-Network Engineering and Security. I’m proud of that, but can’t wait to be done with school. My sister got engaged this year, date is set for April 2007 I think, and my parents finally are having their dream house built. They should be able to move into the house before April hopefully. 2006 also ended the struggle with getting my car back from the guy that was working on it, although not in the way I would have liked.

He just stopped returning my calls and updating me on the progress, and in August I get a bill from Gene’s Towing, saying they towed my vehicle because it was ‘abandoned’, even though it was sitting at said mechanic’s shop. Needless to say that really pissed me off, and I also found out he did this to a couple other people I know also having their cars worked on, one of them a good friend. I could deal with the car being towed and what not, hey shit happens right?, but I found out that when Gene’s Towing held their car auction he bought my car back- luckily covering the towng bill- and then put the motor, which I paid for, back into the car and sold the car as his own, making a nice profit.

 I talked to a lawyer about suing him just to get the money I paid for the engine back-$2300-, so I could at least buy a new car, but my family’s lawyer advised me that it would not be worth it, since it was just a small amount. I would, IF  I won , take home maybe $500 after I paid for the lawyer fee, and all the court fees. I kinda wish I had pursued it, as it was more about the right thing to do than about the money.

That brings us to the fiasco with a good friend. I lost a great friend in the process and his roomate who was starting to become a good friend. I almost lost my couple other good friends, as we all have been close since high school. To be honest this was the hardest time I have ever been in in my life. I’m gratefull I still have my friends, but sad that I lost a really great friend. You never really know how much someone means to you until they aren’t around anymore. I’m in the process of righting that wrong, and hopefully reclaiming him as friend, I know that if that does happen it won’t be the same as before, and to get it back to that level I will have to work hard on the friendship, which I am willing to do. There is one person who was instrumental in helping me keep my best friend, I will be having a nice long chat with said person also.

That brings us to X-mas season. This was the first year in my life I didn’t have the means to get anyone, anything. Let me tell you that is a feeling I will not go through again. I know the spirit of the season if giving, but I just feel akward getting gifts from the people that care about me when I have nothing in return to give them. I know I shouldn’t feel this way as it’s not within the holiday spirit, but hey that’s just me. I think that comes from having to work hard all my life to get everything I have and everything I wantes. Nothing was just handed to me. Anyways that was pretty much my year. Overall not a good year but I brought most if it on myself. You live and you learn.
